In 1960, Fender introduced the deluxe-model four-string Jazz bass guitar. Now, with the Fender American Standard 5-String Jazz Bass V, Fender keeps the classic look that was so iconic fifty years ago but strengthens the technical elements of this piece to make it an enduring classic that any musician would be lucky to possess.
Available in 3-Color Sunburst, Olympic White, Black, and Candy Cola with a urethane finish, the Fender American Standard 5-String Jazz Bass V features a body made from alder wood, a graphite reinforced neck in the Modern "C" shape, either a rosewood or maple fingerboard with a 9.5 inch radius, and chrome hardware that culminate in a fantastic design that leads to an even better sound. With 20 medium jumbo frets and two American Standard 5- String Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups (in other words, passive pick- ups), this instrument is technically proficient for all styles of musicians.
A 12-gauge cold rolled steel plate machined brass backstop increases the bass's mass, further enhancing the top-end. Additional changes to the original design have been engineered to provide the bass with a tighter, more stable fit with a scale length coming in at 35 inches. Many comment on the excellent sound of this instrument for music across genre barriers. Further, the B- string resonates well and provides one of the clearest sounds found in the industry.
